Welcome to Lockgate Cafe, a charming little haven nestled within Whilton Marina, Whilton Locks. Perfectly positioned by the picturesque canal, this delightful cafe offers customers not just a meal, but an experience enriched by nature and community.

The friendly staff creates an ambiance that feels like home, bringing a smile along with the coffee. With its extensive menu, this cafe caters to a variety of tastes, whether you're stopping in for a hearty breakfast or a sumptuous lunch.

Many customers sing the praises of their breakfast offerings, describing them as fresh and fulfilling. Matthew Leach, a satisfied guest, raved about his experience, calling it a "stunning find" and declaring it his new go-to spot for Friday breakfasts. The sound of sizzling bacon and the aromas wafting through the air make it hard to resist. Hayley McMullan notes the delightful bacon and egg baps that are simply bursting with flavor, thanks to perfectly cooked yellow yolks and crispy bacon. You can almost taste the attention to detail that goes into every dish.

The menu is thoughtfully curated to offer something for everyone, as Phil Johnson discovered during a mid-ride stop for tea and scones. Ideal for canal boat owners and casual visitors alike, the cafe boasts a cozy vibe that echoes the charm of its surroundings. With emerging favorites like the tasty scones and a rich selection of drinks, Lockgate Cafe proves that quality service and comfort food go hand-in-hand.

Even during peak hours, this cafe's popularity doesn’t douse its charm. Michael Gordon mentions the friendly atmosphere even in busy times, and with scenic views overlooking the canal basin, it’s easy to understand why guests keep coming back. So, whether you’re enjoying a meal on the terrace during a sunny day or cozying up inside with a cup of coffee as boats glide past, Lockgate Cafe creates moments worth cherishing.

With its lovely location and dedication to quality, Lockgate Cafe is not just a spot to grab a bite; it's a place to unwind and connect with nature and the community. As Liam Wright suggests, even for the scenic walks along the marina, this cafe serves as a perfect resting place to refuel. Don’t miss out on this gem – your taste buds and your soul will thank you.

Small cafe at Whilton locks marina. Called in for mid ride tea and scones. Extensive menu though for breakfast and lunches. Popular for canal boat owners with the accompanying supplies shop next door.

Never actually been to the cafe but every single person that has told me about there breakfast have all said good things about it and how fresh the food is. I have been there a couple times though as they have s lovly marine there and it's such a nice little walk with a gardon center down the road with a fair few animal and such good views. I would definitely recommend going here just to look at all the boats for sale.
